Dr. Lee's Tips: Knowing Warning Signs of a Stroke as a Dentist

"As professionals in the health field, we need to keep on top of overall health issues. New meds come to us daily, and we need to be aware of a multitude of side effects. As our population ages older we have to be more vigilant with our health records and health history forms. As a pediatric dentist, I strongly suggest that dentists be aware of overall health issues that can occur at any age and stage for their patients. Today's post is about the mini-stroke and signs that we should be aware of as the patients sit in their chairs and as their stress levels go up. Be aware and keep an eye on every patient who comes through your door. Taking BP and a complete health history are essential. Ask questions and dig a bit deeper. If you are not sure, refer them to their physician. This is a good post to share with your staff. Be healthy and be safe."
